On October 28, 2017 we celebrated "October - Polish American Heritage Month". Capt. Joellen Drag Oslund, USNR ret. was the keynote speaker with the presentation titled: "The Story of My Fight to Fly at Sea".
Joanna Różewska gave another magical performance of music by Paderewski and Chopin.
Our club presented "The Price of Freedom" - Kościuszko Exhibition.
Outstanding Polish pianist and laureate, Joanna Różewska’s very first performance in the United States. The concert was organized by the Polish American Club of Sacramento, Inc. and was held at the Club's Community Hall on March 5, 2017. The program consisted solely of Chopin's works, in celebration of Chopin's 206th birthday.
A sample of the incredible talent of Joanna Różewska from her concert to honor of the 206th birthday of Chopin
In January, our Club traditionally organizes Polish Carols (kolędy) singing. In years past we have sung to the piano accompaniment by Barbara Wróblewska, with other artists showing their skills as well. Some years we keep it casual gathering around the piano downstairs, more family style. Every year it is a wonderful experience and a great time to teach children the Polish songs of the holidays.
In April, we enjoyed children's folk dance performed by Ukrainian Veselka and Polish Sokoly. Many thanks to Irina and George Arabagi, Malgorzata Wojciechowska, Piotr Irby, Ted Savarese, Mary Kay Stuvland, Anna and Bogdan Komorniczak and all the performers for the memorable and charming evening we spent together.
